Hauksson (gitterns, percussion)
Pastorella brings together three of the UK's leading medieval musicians in a new group. Pastorella aims to bring medieval music to life in a way that makes it real and relevant to 21st century audiences.
Their
first programme is a lively concert of songs of seduction, rousing
instrumentals, and haunting ballads from the Middle Ages including instruments
such as rustic fiddles, flutes, percussion and gitterns.
The members of Pastorella have performed together on many occasions and they play with some of the UK’s leading early music groups, including Musicians of the Globe, Tintagel and The Troubadours. They are all members of dynamic medieval group Mediva who are known for their lively approach and their ability to bring medieval music to life.
Performances
include Music by the Commons
and Brighton Early Music Festival.

La Rabardie! |
La Rabardie celebrates the music of the racy trouveres and heart-felt troubadours. The title of the programme, La Rabardie! is a quote from a lively trouvere song. It means a rousing song with dance and the song tells the story of a riotous rustic dance where things get rather out of control! |
